This last week has been chock full here in the world of Jennifer Mauren Photography!  1st I moved my blog (thus creating some complications that I’m still working out.  If you find anything not working as it should, please feel free to drop me an email @ JenniferMauren@gmail.com).  I launched my new website (still working out kinks there too) and I’m hard at work building a client site (called clientweb) that is password protected in order to make information readily available via the internet for my clients!   So I’m a bit delayed in getting these pictures posted, but much of the week I couldn’t get photos to upload… but back to the reason you come here!  Pictures!  I had the pleasure of capturing the fabulous s family recently at one of my favorite locations.   Beautiful dancer, talented son, great parents…  I tell ya, I just love the people I get to photograph!  They are just fabulous!!

First up, Miss A.  She is stunning.  Seriously stunning.

Then was Mr. A;  talented guy, let me tell ya.  I do have shots with his face in focus, and I did this on purpose.  I just thought it was a cool perspective!

Mr. and Mrs. S are coming up on a special anniversary, and I hope it’s a great one!  Congratulations on the milestone, guys!

Sunday evening (just before the rain hit) I met up with this awesome girl S, her mom, and her dog Winnie.  We had a great time.  I just love getting to meet up with awesome families!!

So, I’m trying to get in the habit of posting more on my blog, and I am wanting to add a new regular edition of “Ask Jennifer”.   So you can either post questions you’d like me to answer in the comment section below or email them to me at JenniferMauren@gmail.com.  Possible topics are camera questions, photography questions, dance questions, parenting questions, baby gear questions… please keep in mind, I don’t consider myself an “expert” in any of the aforementioned fields, but I’ll do my best to answer your questions!

Oh, and for those of you wondering where some pics of Carter are… I have plans to bribe him into a photo session this week.  Pray for me.  Photographing my own 19 month old is a challenge of epic proportions!!  He’s my most difficult photo subject.  Wish me luck!!!

Phew.  9:30p on Friday, but I got it in on the wire!

1.  It’s been a RAINY week here in Bradenton!  We’ve had a low pressure system sitting on top of us for a week and, well, lets just say I’ve had to reschedule quite a few sessions because of it!  Argh!!!  Our lawn sure could use it, though!

2.  Carter has another tooth!  He got his first canine (the pointy one) yesterday.  He has been a teething mess the last week or so.  Poor guy!

3.  Big things coming here at Jennifer Mauren Photography!  I hope to have my new website LIVE in the next week!  The blog will still be here, you can access it from this same address via the splash page or directly at www.jennifermauren.com/blog…

4.  My portfolio building special is in full swing and I’m so excited to say I’m booking up!  This current special runs through July 31st, so don’t miss out!  Don’t forget!  Maternity portraits are best done between weeks 32-36 and those adorable squishy newborn portraits are best under 2 weeks of age, so call to book in advance!

5.  It’s Memorial Day weekend!  No big plans here except some good food with friends!

1.  I have VERY little space left on my hard drive.  So little in fact, I haven’t downloaded our last Disney trip photos because client photos have taken precedence.  I have backed up my hard drive (in duplicate and sometimes triplicate… hey, I’m thorough!), but have the HARDEST time hitting delete!!

2.  I am looking at my house that needs cleaning, but I thought a blog post would take priority.    We have friends coming for dinner though, so I can’t put it off too long.

3.  For those blog readers not in South Florida right now, it’s HOT here.  I mean, temps in the 90s, pool is in the upper 80s (unheated) kind of hot.  The kind of hot that makes me VERY glad both of my jobs keep me indoors!

4.  Carter has become quite the car lover.  Richie bought him some of the adorable “Cars” cars and some of the Disney Racers.  Those boogers are everywhere.  In the living room, in my purse, in his bed, in the car seat… EVERYWHERE!!

5.  Also for those blog readers not in South Florida, it’s lovebug season here.  Blech.  Despite the name, they are NOT lovely.  My car will get a trip to the carwash today to remove their remains after my drive to Tampa to pick up a new lens on Tuesday.  I have to praise North Tampa Photo.  They were the ONLY store in 4 counties (and at least a dozen websites) with this particular lens in stock.  It happens to be the lens I used on Mr. M’s photo’s below.  I big puffy heart that lens.  The service at North Tampa Photo was stellar!  Thanks Keith!!  For those photography buffs, the new lens is the Nikon 24-70mm f/2.8.  Amazing lens.  It’s no lightweight, but I’m tough, I can take it!

Yesterday I got to meet the H family.  Mr. M is 2 months old and SO handsome.  He gets it naturally as his mom and dad are quite the handsome couple!  Mr. M slept SO well for us to get some adorable sleepy shots.  His lips are just TOO much.  He just totally melted my heart.  I can’t wait to do their family shoot!!!  Look out girls, he’s sure to be a heartbreaker!!

Life has been busy but good here!

1) Carter has finished his ISR swimming lessons with Megan Zoller!  We went to Ft. Wilderness last weekend and swam everyday.  He’s a FISH!  LOVES the water.  I’m so impressed that my 18 months old is swimming for 6-7 feet at a time underwater and loving every second!

2)  Carter had his 18 months check-up this week and SURPRISE he’s still a big guy!  His height is just under 35″ and his weight is a solid 30 lbs.  His weight has leveled out and he’s still growing like a weed.  He definitely has Fred Flinstone feet.  I can’t find a single pair of flip flops that fit without creating uncomfortable red marks (that’s if I can get them on at all).  Crocs it is!!

3)  We have a car lover!  Richie bought him these adorable Disney racers that are made to look like different Disney characters.  Very commercial.  Very much loved by my toddler.  He typically takes one to bed at night.

4)  Boy, I seem to only post about the little man.  I guess it seems his life is so much more exciting than mine.  Unless you count the sale I found at Toys R Us today on snack foods.  I know, contain your excitement!

This lovely young woman happens to be a joy to photograph and to teach.  She’s a teacher’s dream.  Smart, funny, talented, hard working… can’t say enough good things about her!  She is in my “Elite 2″ class at Stage Door Studios.
