I believe real life moments are imperfectly perfect and are worth capturing.

I create art for people who can't help but smile at their loved ones.

It's real life. It's real art. It's real life as art.

So, sit back and enjoy some beautiful images from my business and a little about my family and loved ones too. After all, I'm running a business in the community I was born and raised in. But it's more than just business when my clients welcome me into their lives and their homes.

dear ones

Another long post here. Most people don’t mind though. More beautiful people and babies to look at! This is a dear friend of mine. About a year ago I photographed their family. Well, Amy got pregnant very soon after that! Amy and I have been friends since 3rd grade. She’s also my “business mind” most of the time. She helps me with the back end business stuff that I loathe, and well, I take photos. I have 2 boys and she had 2 girls. Then she found out she was having a boy. YAY! Now, the pressure is on for us to have a girl someday. There are quite a few to share because we took a lot! We timed her maternity session just right. The next week she was in an awful car accident. Thankfully her and her daughters walked away with minor injuries. Unfortunately, the man who hit her wasn’t so lucky and passed away at the scene of the accident. So, this little baby boy is so blessed to be unhurt (as are the rest of the family). Without further ado… we introduce sweet Cameron!

Wow, what an amazing story. So glad that they’re all alright! Gorgeous work, as always, Jen! The siblings shot is my favorite though…that would be going above the fireplace BIG in my house!

can’t get enough

I just can’t get enough of this family. I started photographing them when the oldest was only 15 months old and mama Aja was expecting the twins. I’ve captured the newborn twin session, their 5 month session and now a session when they turned 1 (with big brother too). We laughed a lot. We chased a lot. We got beautiful images that just are so them. I love them. And so does the family. Mission accomplished. I also got one of my favorite outtakes during this session. Love Miss A’s infectious smile. Love little Mr. M’s coy smile. Love Mr. P’s charming glances. So much love.

lullabye

This sweet little girl was just stunning. She had gorgeous olive complexion, dark hair, big cheeks, plump lips… she had it all. Dad sang a lullabye to her all throughout the pregnancy and it really did calm her instantly when he started singing. I (half) jokingly asked him to make a recording of it so I could use it to soothe other newborns as well!

She is beautiful! Gorgeous images!

best of both worlds

Get comfy. This post is chock full of photos. I first met up with this family at the studio for a maternity session. We had gorgeous evening light (as you’ll see here in a minute). Then when I met their new baby girl I saw something I’ve never seen in a newborn. Her hair was blonde AND brown. It has unusual areas that are blonde and some that are dark. She is literally a blend of her parents! I’ve never seen it expressed quite like this, but I love it! She was so sleepy we got quite a few set ups with her!

cousins

I grew up in a large family with lots of cousins. We were all very close. For several years we still went to Mema’s for Sunday dinner, so there was lots of swimming, and pretending, and playing by all of us cousins. In fact, my cousin Kim and I are more like sisters than cousins. Neither of us had a real sister (only brothers). So, when this grandmother asked me to photograph her 2 grandchildren who are very close as cousins, I leapt at the opportunity. Mr. C brought a beloved airplane and the first picture taken that day was by him of his airplane. (I didn’t have a Mr. C watermark though, so you’ll just have to take my word for it).
